KNN 70th anniversary - 2017 conference

We are delighted to announce that the Appaloosa Project's head researcher Sheila Archer (Canada) and chief molecular biologist Dr. Rebecca Bellone (USA) will be attending the 4th International Knabstrupper Conference, at the invitation of the KNN (Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark).

2017 is the KNN's 70th anniversary and we are very excited to be back in Denmark to celebrate with the KNN and share knowledge with breeders of Knabstrupper horses.

Herskabsstalden, Vilhelmsborg, Bedervej 101, DK-8320 Mårslet, Denmark

Purpose and participants 

The purpose of the conference is to share information about the Knabstrupper breed and of Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark (KNN), who maintains the original studbook of the breed. 

The conference is open for all interested persons, but members of Knabstrupperforeningen for Danmark have priority position. The conference is limited to 40 participants. 

Language 

The conference language is English.

Program 

Sheila Archer and Rebecca Bellone will be lecturing on spotted horse genetics, Congenital Stationary Night Blindness (CSNB) and Uveitis. Merete Norring will lecture on the Knabstrupper colour historically. Bernt Guldbrandtsen from Aarhus University will lecture on the “Genomic Study of Danish Conservation Horse Breeds” and much more…. 

Compendium 

Papers from the various presentations will be gathered and published in a compendium for the participants. 

Registration 

Participants who wish to attend the conference are requested to fill out the registration form. Registration is complete when the KNN has registered your payment.
